The S-108 "Voyager" is a civilian aircraft of the WWII era. At the time, the S-108 was considered advanced, with side-by-side seating and a yoke control system. Another member of the Stinson family, the L-5 "Sentinel", saw extensive WWII and Korean War service. Sometimes called "The Flying Jeep", and commonly outfitted as one of the first flying ambulances, the L-5 was in service from the early 1940's to the early 1960's; over 3,000 were built.

The WHS S-108 carries the markings of a WWII-era Civil Air Patrol (CAP) aircraft. During the war, many civilian aircraft served with the CAP. These aircraft and their civilian crews filled many important roles on the home front, including search and rescue and anti-submarine observation patrols.
