The West Houston Squadron is now
the Houston
Wing.
In June 2012, the CAF President and General Staff approved the
realignment of the West Houston Squadron as a direct reporting unit,
creating the Houston Wing.

The 2013 Houston Wing Open
House is
April 20 & 21, 2013
at West Houston Airport
Gates will be open from 10AM till 5PM
20+ aircraft are expected, including the CAF's
B-17 "Texas Raiders", a P-51 Mustang, T-28 Trojan (two!), Yak 52 (three!),
and many trainers, observation aircraft and probably at least one aircraft from
the CAF Tora Tora Tora team.
A parking donation of $10 per car is requested and
appreciated.

The Houston Wing of the Commemorative Air Force
is based at West Houston Airport, in Houston, Texas, USA. The Wing has six CAF aircraft assigned:
 | Lockheed C-60A "Lodestar" |
 | North American AT-6 "Texan" |
 | Consolidated-Vultee BT-13 "Valiant" |
 | Naval Aircraft Factory N3N "Yellow Peril" |
 | Fairchild PT-19A "Cornell" |
 | and a major restoration project, a North American L-17 Navion |
Major events for the Wing each year include the
Wings
Over Houston® Airshow, a spring "Open House" event at our hangar, and an
occasional "informal open house" when a distinguished
visitor aircraft comes by.
Our museum, which is focused on WWII aviation, is
open the first and third Saturday of each month from 10AM to 3PM. Our aircraft travel to several airshows each year, including the annual
CAF AIRSHO® at CAF Headquarters in Midland, Texas.
Houston Wing aircraft are also frequent participants in flyovers for veteran's memorials
and sporting events in the Houston area.
