Another fantastic Open House!
The
2008
West Houston Squadron Open House was held on Saturday and Sunday, April 19 & 20.
What a weekend! Great weather (a touch windy on Sunday), a terrific
crowd and a better-than-terrific group of airplanes. Even with a
traffic nightmare caused by a construction closure of both I-10 and Highway
6, we had a steady crowd each day. Thanks to everyone who attended,
the sponsors who contributed, and special thanks to the volunteers who
worked their tails off and to the pilots who brought their airplanes.
Your support helps keep the CAF a flying museum.

The West Houston Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force is based at West Houston Airport, in Houston, Texas, USA.
We are a squadron of the West
Texas Wing of the CAF. The Squadron has five CAF aircraft assigned:
North American Aircraft AT-6 "Texan"
Consolidated-Vultee BT-13 "Valiant"
Naval Aircraft Factory N3N "Yellow Peril"
Stinson S-108 "Voyager"
Lockheed C-60A "Lodestar"
Other squadron members also own
warbirds,
one of which (a North American SNJ) is
based at our hangar.
Major events for the squadron each year include the Wings
Over Houston® Airshow (which we conduct along with the CAF Gulf
Coast Wing and with strong support from the Lone
Star Flight Museum), one or two official "Open House" fly-in events at our hangar,
and usually a couple of unofficial "open house" events when a distinguished
visitor aircraft comes by.
Our aircraft travel to several airshows each year, including the annual
CAF AIRSHO® at CAF Headquarters in Midland, Texas.
WHS aircraft are also frequent participants in flyovers for veteran's memorials
and sporting events in the Houston area.
